Use the windlass' master switch to turn it ON. |

Turn the windlass gypsy 360° (one turn) and measure the exact length in centimeters of the released chain. |

Now Press the ON/OFF button to turn OFF the display of the control unit. |

Press the "ANCHOR SAFE" ON/OFF button and hold down for 5 seconds until XXXE appears on the display. (Now you can set the maximum length in meters that the anchor chain can be released. It is recommended that this be at least 10m less than the chains available total length).
Press the UP button intermittently (each press equals 10 meters) till the display shows the requested length. If the desired number has been missed press R.Set. This resets the value so you can start again.

Gently press the ON/OFF button - CX.XX appears on the display. (This display is to set the measured length of chain in one turn of the gypsy "refer to section 2").
In this mode press the UP button intermittently until the figure in centimeters measured in section 2 appears. If the required measure has been missed, keep pressing UP intermittently until the required number re-appears - the unit goes up by 2 meters at a time and start again from value 0.

Gently press the ON/OFF button - the Sn L screen appears. Now start the windlass by using its ordinary switches so that it turns a number of times. This action teaches the windlass control unit to recognize the sensor and the control unit will sound a 'beep'. If this is not heard check that the sensor has been properly installed according to the instructions or the sensor is already programmed by the manufacturer. |

Gently press the ON/OFF button - the CONT screen appears. Now press any button on the remote control and a short 'beep' will sound, this indicates the remote is recognized, but if no 'beep' sounds this is because the remote control has already been factory programmed. |

Gently press again the ON/OFF button - the XXXE screen appears - go to 4.7. |

Gently press again the ON/OFF button - the CX.XX screen appears (For example: if the length of the chain measured 35cm then C0.35 should appear), as a confirmation press the lower SET button - 000.0 will appear on the display. The unit is now set and ready. |

The Anchor-Safe unit supports all types of windlasses whether they turn in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. |

If the counter does not count the length when the anchor chain is released, and also emits a beeping sound then do the following:
Turn the unit off. Then press on/off for 5 seconds to enter XXXE (program mode)
Navigate to screen displaying Sn L or Sn R (4 short presses of ON/OFF button
Press 'UP' button once to change 'R' to 'L' or 'L' to 'R',
Then press on/off button 3 times till CX.XX appears (programs perimeter length of gypsy - see 4.1) and then press 'R.SET'.
The unit has now recognized the specific windlass's gypsy direction of spin to match the sensor on the chain counter.
