The "Anchor Safe" is a modern high-tech anchor chain counter. Its advanced wireless remote control capability makes it simplicity itself for you to easily, quickly install and safely operate your yachts' anchor.
The unique sensor fitted to the windlass gypsy wirelessly sends the data to the microprocessor based control units where it is collated. Your handy wireless remote control unit can operate anywhere on board so you can easily, safely and precisely deploy or re-wind the anchor chain from wherever you are.
With absolute precision the system automatically measures (in feet/meters) how much anchor chain has been deployed/rewound. This data stays in the unit's memory even when the main battery switch is turned OFF.
Rewinding the anchor chain is precisely programmed to automatically stop at a safe distance from the bow, (usually 2 meters) from where you can safely bring it on deck using wireless remote control.
Although the wireless "Anchor Safe" uses the most advanced technology it is simple, easy and quick to install, and can be fitted on board any yacht no matter what its age or type of construction. There is no need for any special installation procedure.
The main components of the wireless "Anchor Safe" chain counter:
1. The chain counter sensor: This is a very tiny, sophisticated, completely weatherproof and durable unit. In this system only one sensor is used unlike other systems that use multiple sensors to identify the chain direction (up or down).
The sensor is fitted close to the windlass gypsy and is completely wireless so there is NO need to rewire the windlass system. (Usually the hardest part of installing such systems is wiring the sensors from the windlass to the flybridge as in existing chain counters, and the need to make a number of proper and weatherproof connections in this difficult area).
2. An attractive completely waterproof control panel made from highly durable and long lasting materials. Any number of these units can be installed. They can be fitted to the flybridge, main deck or anywhere you choose. These control panels let you wirelessly remote control the following operations: :
A) Precisely measure the amount of chain deployed or rewound.
B ) Automatically operate the windlass. This is very convenient as it now leaves you free to do other tasks.
C) Audible warning alarm when the anchor approaches the boom or on deployment when the chain is about to run out.
3. The wireless remote control releases or rewinds the anchor chain from anywhere on board. (This unit does not need any wiring to the windlass as in ordinary windlass remote control devices).
4. The "Anchor Safe" chain counter is the only device that makes it possible and safe for you to operate your yacht single handedly. Deploying or upping-anchor can be done with hardly any crew assistance. Even when upping-anchor you can organize the stowage of the chain in the chain locker safe in the knowledge that the re-winding will automatically stop a safe distance from the bow.
