SET-UP AND CALIBRATION OF CONTROL UNIT - English measure (feet/inches)

1 Use the windlass' master switch to turn it ON.
2 Turn windlass gypsy 360° (one turn) using the ordinary switches of the windlass and measure the exact length in inches of the released chain.
3 Now Press the ON/OFF button to turn OFF the display of the control unit.
4 Press the ON/OFF button and hold down for 5 seconds until XXXE appears on the display.
4.1 Gently press the ON/OFF button - CX.XX appears on the display. (not relevant in feet)
4.2 Gently press again the ON/OFF button and XXXF appears. Press the UP button intermittently to calibrate the maximum released length of the anchor chain - each press equals 10 feet. (It is suggested that this be at least 20' less than the chains total available length). If the desired number has been missed press R.Set. This resets the value so you can start again.
4.3 Gently press the ON/OFF button - FX.XX appears on the display. Press UP until the figure measured in paragraph 2 (the chain length in one turn) appears. If the required measure has been missed, keep pressing UP intermittently until the required number re-appears - the unit goes up by 7 feet at a time and start again from value 0.
4.4 Gently press the ON/OFF button - the Sn L or Sn R screen appears. Now start the windlass by using its ordinary switches so that it turns a number of times. This action teaches the windlass control unit to recognize the sensor and the control unit will sound a 'beep'. If this is not heard check that the sensor has been properly installed according to the instructions or the sensor is already programmed by the manufacturer.
4.5 Gently press the ON/OFF button - the CONT screen appears. Now press any button on the remote control and a short 'beep' will sound and indicates the remote is recognized, but if no 'beep' sounds this is because the remote control has already been factory programmed.
4.6 Gently press the ON/OFF button a number of times (4) until the FX.XX screen appears. This time the screen will show the calibrated length of the one turn gypsy chain length (Example: if the length of the chain measured is 1 feet 4 inches then F1.04 should appear), If the calibrated value is correct press the lower SET button - F000 will appear on the display. The unit is now set and ready to operate.
4.7 The Anchor-Safe unit supports all types of windlasses whether they turn in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.
4.8 4.8. If the counter does not count the length when the anchor chain is released, and also emits a beeping sound then do the following:

Turn the unit off. Then press on/off for 5 seconds to enter XXXE (program mode)
Navigate to screen displaying Sn L or Sn R (4 short presses of on/off button
Press 'UP' button once to change 'r' to 'L' or 'L' to 'r',
Then press on/off button 5 times till FX.XX appears (programs perimeter length of gypsy - see 4.2) and then press 'R.SET'.

The unit has now recognized the specific windlass's gypsy direction of spin to match the sensor on the chain counter.

If the control panel has not been operated for 10 minutes it will automatically turn itself OFF. To turn it ON again just press the ON/OFF button once.
